Welcome to the home of Point 5 Mountaineering run by MIC Mountaineering Instructor Kenny Grant. Located in Lochaber in the shadow of Ben Nevis, we are a small and friendly company specializing in walking, scrambling and climbing courses tailored to your level. Our experienced instructors, expert local knowlege and small client ratios ensure that you will get the very most out of your time on the hill. All courses are custom made; you decide what you would like to do, when you would like to do it and for how long.

Courses

Summer and Winter Courses designed to give you the skills and confidence to safely enjoy your own adventures in the mountains. We firmly believe the mountains are the best place to learn so. as well as receiving top class skills coaching, you will also enjoy some of the best walking, scrambling or climbing around - that’s why you’re coming on a course after all!

Private Guiding 

Enjoy a day on the Hill or the Crag with the added confidence of a highly experienced guide as a partner. Tackle that climb that’s always been on your list or let your guide carefully select a route for you with the benefit of their local knowledge. Perhaps even try something that’s at the top end of your climbing grade or comfort zone - it’s often the best way of improving! Private guiding is available for Summer and Winter walking, scrambling and climbing.

The Highlands are well known for their rugged climate and challenging mountaineering conditions. Knowing where to go in the prevailing weather is essential and often makes the difference between a great day's mountaineering and failure. Flexibility is the key, and your instructor will make decisions based on the weather forecast for that day. Living, working and climbing in Fort William all year round means we have a wealth of (very!) hard earned local knowledge and this ensures that you will get the most possible out of the weather and conditions.
